RELICARIO Project

Recycling of End-of-LIfe CArbon fiber Reinforced plastics

Supported by EITRM_Landscape_RGB.png

The RELICARIO project aims at providing a new and viable solution to substitute steel containing Critical Raw Materials and primary carbon fibers in the automotive industry through the recycling of CFRPs to obtain high quality carbon fibres. Recycled carbon fibers have lower price and carbon footprint and are ideal for applications where rigidity and lightweight are required. The project will prove the competitiveness of the PHYre® process up to market introduction.

RESMACC Project

Recyclage pour une Economie Soutenable de Matériaux Composites à base de fibre de Carbone

RESMACC project is supported by the French region Occitanie. The project aims the development of PHYre® technology at pilot scale, the development of post-processing options for the recycled carbon fibers reclaimed and the validation of such fibers in prototypes.

It consists of three main activities:

  • The design of a 800 L treatment unit

  • A textile reprocessing of recycled fibers

  • The conception of structural composite parts
